The market situation surrounding Hanwha Aerospace has been unfolding quite complexly recently. It is a phase where fundamentals and short-term risks are strongly colliding, and we need to assess it coldly, excluding emotions.

🛑 Repercussions of Daejeon Plant Shutdown and Compulsory Investigation

There was a tragic disaster on the 1st where an explosion at the Daejeon plant left 5 dead and 2 injured ^[1]. Today (the 6th), the first funeral ceremony for one of the victims was solemnly held, and the funerals for the remaining victims are scheduled for tomorrow ^[1].

Immediately after the accident, the company completely suspended operations at all 9 of its nationwide plants for the first time since its launch and entered a special safety inspection ^[3]. Police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor launched a compulsory investigation, searching three locations including the headquarters, the Daejeon plant, and the R&D campus, securing over 5,400 items of data, including the mobile phones of the CEO and the head of the Daejeon plant, and are currently conducting digital forensics ^[2].

In particular, the new wheeled self-propelled howitzer 'K9MH' targeting the US Army's artillery modernization project and Spain's next-generation artillery modernization project to penetrate the global market is a crucial point to watch ^[11].
