🍠 Nvidia’s supply chain is expanding, but validation is still pending - 2026.10.24
Hi, it’s me, Sweet Potato 🍠 There’s plenty of Nvidia news again today, but the stock itself is quietly drifting lower. The October 23 closing price was $211.14 and the change was -0.50%. Good news is piling up, but the chart is moving to its own beat—that’s today’s tension.
🤝 Building out the entire data center landscape
Here’s how I’d sum up the four perspectives. First, the facts. At its GTC Berlin keynote, Nvidia reportedly unveiled a new strategy spanning AI data center construction, enterprise AI agents, software, security, and robotics [4]. It’s easy to think of it as a company that used to sell chips now shipping the whole package. The Chosun Ilbo also reported that Nvidia unveiled a modular data center that can be built in just 14 days [1], along with reports of substantial support underpinning neoclouds [2]. I’ll leave out the monetary figures here, though. They’re large numbers mentioned by only one source.
⚖️ Signals coming from two directions: supply chain and demand
Samsung Electro-Mechanics and Nvidia are reportedly pursuing a joint investment in production facilities for advanced package substrates used in AI semiconductors [5]. The plan is to expand lines in Sejong and Busan to supply substrates for AI computing chips and network switches. But the expectation of double-digit annual growth in shipments for Nvidia comes from Korea Economic TV’s reporting, not a confirmed company plan. On the demand side, there’s a report from Reuters. ByteDance, Alibaba, and Tencent have reportedly placed large orders for Nvidia’s new RTX PRO 5500 [6]. The explanation is that demand has concentrated on products available in China amid U.S. export controls on advanced semiconductors and a shortage of AI computing resources. The interesting part is that demand may be hot not only because people want these products, but also because their options are limited.
🎯 Outlooks diverge, and the numbers are still missing
One expert believes Nvidia’s growth rate could slow [3]. That’s a conditional opinion from an expert, not an announcement from the company. My take is that bullish and bearish scenarios can coexist. How quickly expanded substrate supply and large orders will show up in revenue—and how a slowdown outlook will interact with the stock price—are still open questions.
To put it in my own Sweet Potato terms, I’m more curious about the moment this news shows up in actual revenue figures than the supply news itself 🤔 So here’s a question: Can the data center strategy, China-driven demand, and substrate expansion all connect in one line?
