Thanks to the surge in global memory semiconductor prices, an analysis suggested that Samsung's Q2 operating profit this year could reach 100 trillion won ^[2]. In the Q1 global DRAM market, it maintained its #1 spot with a 38.5% market share, and the fixed transaction price for general-purpose DRAM in Q2 could rise by up to 63% ^[3].

Based on these fundamental figures, domestic securities firms raised their target price to 430,000 won ^[2], and Susquehanna in the US presented an exceptional target price of 850,000 won ^[8]. However, looking at the massive target price gaps in these authoritative IB reports, I wonder if these figures are fully verifiable at the current valuation.

💼 Technological Display and External Variables: HBM5 and Derivative Risks

At the Computex 2026 in Taiwan, Samsung Electronics revealed the physical mockup of its 8th generation high-bandwidth memory, HBM5, and its core thermal management technology 'HPB' for the first time, showing its intent to preempt next-generation technology ^[4]. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang also drew market attention by mentioning regarding Samsung's bonus controversy that employees should be compensated as much as possible ^[5].

But there are external variables to watch out for. The global crypto exchange Binance launched a perpetual futures product with up to 20x leverage tracking Samsung Electronics' stock price ^[6].
