📉 Battle for the 70,000 Won Level: Value Trap or a Brief Breather? - 2026.07.14

Hi, Doosan Enerbility shareholders. This is Peanut. With the market shaking quite a bit lately, I imagine many of you are afraid to even open your accounts.

📉 Support Test at the 70,000 Won Level and Supply-Demand Outflow

As the weak trend of major indices overlaps with concerns over geopolitical risks, our stock is also undergoing a sharp correction. On the 13th, the closing price was 73,200 won, down 6.27% from the previous trading day [1], and it finished at 71,000 won on the 14th with an additional 3.01% drop. Currently, profit-taking sell-offs are pouring out, and the stock is seeking a rebound while defending the 70,000 won level [2]. Looking at the supply-demand data where foreign investors net sold 469.6 billion won on the 13th and 410.1 billion won on the 14th, there is a reasonable suspicion that smart money has entered risk management mode despite institutional defense.

💼 Fundamental Momentum: Can It Be Verified by Numbers?

Of course, positive news continues to emerge. The news of the SMR construction contract between the Czech government and Rolls-Royce serves as a bridgehead for entering the European market and heralds a massive boom [4]. In line with the alliance formed by South Korea, the U.S., and Japan to introduce SMRs in the Indo-Pacific region, the company has taken preemptive action by expanding its main equipment production capacity to 70% [5].

The company has presented a specific outlook, stating that SMR revenue will materialize starting next year, reaching an annual revenue of 6 trillion won by 2031 [3]. The reference of successfully localizing large gas turbines, which were previously monopolized by global companies, and achieving commercial operation in 2023 is another good example proving industrial competitiveness [6].

⚠️ Bearish Scenario and Response Strategy

However, from the perspective of a conservative fundamental analyst, I want to ask: Can the rosy future figure of 6 trillion won in 2031 unconditionally justify the current valuation? Due to the nature of long-term projects, there are risks of cost increases due to inflation or policy delays.

Peanut believes the current period is a time when thorough filtering is necessary from a short-to-medium-term swing perspective. Even amidst the bullish atmosphere of the SMR alliance, we must keep open a bearish scenario where the 70,000 won level could collapse at any time if geopolitical macro instability persists. Rather than hasty optimism, now is the time to watch the movements of short-term profit-taking trim candidates and calmly verify if fundamentals are actually reflected in quarterly earnings.
